Transforming Lives and Building Churches: May Ministry Highlights from Southeast Asia

May brought a season of remarkable growth and deepened faith through ministry efforts in Southeast Asia and East Africa. Seven people chose to follow Jesus, two churches were built, and five Bibles found new homes. These milestones reflect the power of sharing the Gospel in diverse communities and the ongoing commitment to planting churches where new believers gather. This post shares the highlights from May, insights from the recent ministry trip, and a look ahead to June’s plans.

Ministry Trip to Southeast Asia

Traveling to Southeast Asia opened doors to partner with local believers and our friend Amanda in ministry. We preached in underground churches, youth conferences, and local gatherings. These settings offered a unique chance to connect with people eager to hear the Gospel despite challenges.

One of the most moving moments was witnessing seven individuals give their lives to Jesus. Seeing hearts transformed by faith is a profound reminder of why this work matters. The experience of ministering in a different cultural context enriched the team’s understanding and strengthened their resolve to continue spreading the Gospel.

Fellowship with locals during the trip created lasting bonds and deepened relationships. These connections are vital for ongoing ministry and support. The trip also involved distributing five Bibles, ensuring that new believers and seekers have access to God’s Word.

Preparing for June’s Ministry

June promises to be a busy month with several key activities planned:

  • Deep Bush and Piki Piki evangelism efforts will reach remote communities.

  • Hosting a KAGSOM teacher to support local education and ministry.

  • Building two additional churches to accommodate growing congregations.

  • Preaching in KAG churches to encourage and strengthen local believers.

  • Welcoming a team/

intern arriving from the United States to join ministry efforts.

  • Hosting a women’s conference to empower and inspire female believers.

  • Participating in the KAG Maasai District Council to collaborate on regional ministry strategies.

These plans reflect a commitment to both spiritual growth and practical support for communities.

The Call to Church Planting

Church planting is a central calling for our ministry. It involves more than evangelism; it means nurturing new believers, providing leadership, and creating sustainable faith communities. The process often begins with informal gatherings under trees, evolving into established churches as resources and leadership develop.

The team’s passion for church planting is clear. After ministering in an area, new followers of Jesus begin meeting regularly, creating a foundation for spiritual growth and community support. Building churches is more than constructing buildings; it is about establishing places where faith can flourish.

The cost of building a church is approximately $4,000. This investment covers the basic structure and allows new believers to worship in a dedicated space. Supporting church planting is a tangible way to help spread the Gospel across East Africa.

Prayer and partnership are essential. Those interested in supporting this work can consider joining in prayer or financial partnership to help build more churches and support new believers.

Moving Forward with Gratitude and Hope

May’s ministry highlights show the impact of faithful service and the power of the Gospel to transform lives. Seven new believers, two churches built, and ongoing outreach efforts demonstrate progress and hope. The upcoming activities in June will build on this momentum, reaching more people and strengthening the church community.
